THEATRE FOR UNDER 5S
Our pioneering Preschool programmes were first developed by Playbox Theatre’s Founding Director, Mary King, in 1987! They are perfect theatre adventures for younger children and explore a wealth of inspiring techniques that develop confidence, self-esteem and ability. In addition, we regularly stage performances and interactive events for this age group… so keep an eye on our What’s On section!
Ci O'Byrne is the Director of our Preschool department.
REGULAR WEEKLY SESSIONS

EARLY STAGERS
(3-4 YEARS)
Early Stagers gives the opportunity for imagination to truly take flight, and offers children the chance to engage directly with theatre. Each workshop is fully themed and blends mime, movement, role play, voice, song and storytelling to create a fully-rounded experience for everyone in the group. Early Stagers has given 1,000s of children a springboard to confidence and encourages members to find their voice, as well as supporting educational growth.

DROP-IN SESSIONS
These events operate on a ‘pay-as-you-come’ basis, with no prior booking required. The below sessions only run during Playbox Theatre’s season dates.
MAGIC CARPET
(2-4 YEARS)
Take flight with Playbox Theatre! Children aged 2+ are invited to join us each week on the Magic Carpet. There are stories, songs, craft and role play… followed by a scrumptious lunch box from our theatre café. Parents are welcome to stay with children at this event, or to drop and go.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 12:30-1
Cost: £5.00 (to include lunchbox)
